UAE
Zero income tax. Zero chill for four months of the year. Net positive.
The honest take
The UAE has spent two decades positioning itself as the destination for high earners who find the phrase 'income tax' personally offensive. Dubai is audacious to the point of self-parody — the world's tallest building, indoor skiing, an archipelago in the shape of a palm tree — but behind the spectacle is a genuinely well-run logistics and financial hub with world-class infrastructure and an expat community so large it outnumbers the national population. Abu Dhabi is quieter, more culturally conservative, and home to the Louvre Abu Dhabi in case you need art to justify being there. Summers are genuinely dangerous and the entire population migrates indoors from June to September.
